My Dad Poem

Created by Emily 3 months ago
My dad was good at speeches and knowing what to say, so I hope he's here with me while I address you all today.

My dad would get lost out and about on our trips, into a nook of book shop or tat shop often coming back with a few bits.

My dad was thoughtful with the gifts that he gave, nic nacks and trinkets from charity shops where his fave.

My dad would keep quiet in conversations we had but he'd be quick with a pun or a joke, no matter how bad.

My dad's love of music always growing bigger, Collecting CDs and records, on guitar and piano he would tinker.

My dad was childish always messing around, climbing trees, playing games or down a slide at the playground.

My Dad tended to the garden when the weather was hot without fail, or if it was a sunny Sunday you'd find him at the Carboot sale.

My dad got the paper and hoped his lottery ticket was a winner, he'd watch the tv shows he recorded with a sandwich for his dinner.

My dad enjoyed history, poking around in the past, finding lost members of the family making their memories last.

My dad began to travel and he wanted to do more.
But he explored the World in other ways in movies, music and books galore.

My dad was my dad, he did his best, and made us laugh, we all love and miss him dearly and will keep telling jokes on his behalf.
